Bourne Education Trust

RWST is a two-school trust, comprising Twickenham School and Hampton High, led by Philippa Nunn (previously headteacher of  Waldegrave School).  RWST was formed by local governors and experts with the aim of ensuring that Twickenham School and Hampton High would be judged as good by Ofsted by 2021.  RWST is committed to the long-term future of the schools in our Trust and can demonstrate that progress towards the aim is extremely strong.  We are pleased with the commitment that we have from our staff, students, parents, our local communities and the local authority.

Since both schools moved to RWST, there has been a focus on teaching and learning, behaviour and school standards.  Leaders, staff and students have been working together with Governors and Trustees to develop great systems in both schools to enable students to achieve their full potential.

Twickenham School has shown huge improvement and was moved out of Ofsted special measures and given a good judgement for leadership and behaviour after just over one year, an extremely impressive achievement. In May 2019 Hampton High was inspected and awarded a Good judgement for all four Ofsted categories: this is a very significant step for the school, which had not previously reached this standard.

Trustees and Governors bring a wealth of experience to the Trust to support the growth and development of both schools.  Trustees come from a variety of backgrounds and include representatives from the local authority, ex-headteachers, and trustees with a range of experience of finance, business and education.

‘Aspire together, learn together, achieve together.’

In January 2019, Philippa Nunn (CEO) left Waldegrave School to work solely for RWST. This reflects her passion to improve schools so that learners across Richmond have access to great schools.   This decision was an easy one as she could see the great progress being made and wanted to be part of supporting the long-term future of both schools and their place in the local community.

Our vision

The RWST vision is to inspire everyone to achieve, enjoy and flourish beyond their own expectations.  Each school has its own identity: what unites us is a commitment to make a difference by sharing and delivering excellence locally..

Our core values

  • A focus on excellence in everything that we do; supporting young people to aspire beyond any limitations that their context might appear to place on them;
  • Empowering, challenging and developing leaders at all levels to be the best they possibly can be;
  • Developing a family of schools where individuality is recognised and celebrated;
  • Providing an inclusive and caring environment where everyone is respected and feels safe.

Each school has its own vision which is used at School level; these are led by and complement the RWST vision.

Contact RWST

RWST can be contacted via Twickenham School or via the RWST website.
